Pneumatic conveying

Pneumatic conveying systems allow for the dynamic transport of air as well as materials in both powder and granular forms.
convoiement pneumatique

Pneumatic conveying is usually utilized when the product that needs to be transported (raw materials or residues) is dry, making it possible to achieve a rapid, direct, and constant supply of said material.

Depending on the applications and needs related to the process, pneumatic conveying can be done in either dilute or dense phases. Dilute phase conveying (more air, less product) is more common, as it is easier to implement. Dense phase conveying (more product, less air) is less commonly employed and with a more specific application. A typical system consists of a suppression unit that serves to generate positive air movement in a pneumatic conveying piping system, offering a long-radius change of direction. Such a system may have one or more product entry points as well as one or more discharge/delivery points.

The advantages of pneumatic conveying compared to traditional mechanical conveying systems are multifold:

  • Minimal maintenance
  • Ease of operation and access (especially in the event of a blockage)
  • Little to no wear of components
  • Malleable routing path that can be adapted to existing infrastructure
  • A very light physical footprint as far as installation
  • Transport of products over long distances
  • Conveyance in a closed environment, not exposed to ambient air
  • Ducting layout possible in all directions

As specialists in pneumatic conveying, we can help you plan your new projects, optimize your existing installations, or resolve any issues you may be experiencing with product handling and conveying. We’ll find the solution that best suits your needs, and offer you specialized components according to your application and the products being conveyed:

  • Anti-wear elbows
  • Diffusion pipes
  • Systems for supplying products to duct networks
  • Eductors
  • Divergent systems
  • Vacuum breaker valves
  • Adjustment valves
  • Pressure relief valves

Silos and tanks

Silos and tanks make it possible to accumulate solid or liquid products in an isolated location that is sheltered from the elements.
silos et réservoir

We design and manufacture complete and efficient silos and tanks, in various shapes and sizes, tailored to your industry as well as your own specific needs.

These accumulation systems are made of mild steel, stainless steel, or polymer. They are available with the relevant accessories and add-ons for your own use as well as that of the accumulated product.

  • Support structure
  • Access point for maintenance
  • Discharge management systems
  • Level probes
  • Aerators and fluidizers to support product flow
  • Bin vents
  • Vacuum breaker and pressure relief valves
  • Explosion vent
  • Monitoring system
  • Wear-proof internal lining

Hoppers and bins

Hoppers and bins are storage systems similar to silos and tanks, except that they are open to the atmosphere.
bennes

Hoppers and bins provide easy access to their openings so that product may be added as needed.

Our hopper and bin systems come in different materials and with the same components and accessories as our silos and tanks.

Design is always focused on the efficiency and longevity of their operation.

Depending on the application or process employed, they can be configured for various shapes and sizes.

Discharge and dosing systems

Discharge systems are used to isolate a product contained within a silo, tank, or hopper in order to discharge it.
système décharge dosage

Depending on the type of equipment used, the discharge of a product may or may not be carried out at a controlled rate.

Our comprehensive solutions for discharge and dosing systems are designed to suit your application, processes, and needs.

  • Rotary valves of any type
  • Screw conveyor of any type
  • Eductor for pneumatic conveyor
  • Pinch valve
  • Guillotine valve
  • Diverter valve
  • Butterfly valve
  • Flap gate valve

Each system is available with an electric motor, a pneumatic/electric actuator, or manual activation.

Fluidization

Issues related to product flow in hoppers, bins, and tanks are quite common in industrial scenarios. Pneumatic fluidization resolves these issues via compressed air systems.
fluidisation

Depending on the application, the type of equipment, and the nature of the issue, several solutions may be considered:

  • Aeration pads are a low volume, low air pressure solution. They ensure an air circulation that favors the product’s natural flow. They can be activated continuously or as needed, depending on the application.
  • Mushroom pad aerators are a medium volume air pressure solution. They enable forced air movement to activate product flow. Their activation can be continuous or as needed depending on the application.
  • Pulsed air sweepers are capable of responding to the majority of flow issues: bridging, clinging material, material whose shape is not favorable to flow, etc. Pulsed air sweepers clean the internal walls of the tank in a 360° approach, forcing the product to flow.
  • Lances, air cannons, and other processes are tailor-made solutions designed to tackle specific flow issues.
